Visiting Lake Mohave, Nevada
~ outdoor fun minutes from Laughlin
View ruby red sunsets and rich indigo skies, and swim in the crystal clear waters of Lake Mohave. Lake Mohave is an ideal setting for your houseboat vacation - from finding the perfect hidden cove in which to spend your entire trip to cruising the lake and fishing for the night's dinner. This desert oasis truly is perfect for vacationing spring, summer or fall.
Lake Mohave is part of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. It offers a wealth of things to do and places to go year-round. Lake Mohave caters to boaters, swimmers, sunbathers, and fishermen while its desert rewards hikers, wildlife photographers, and roadside sightseers. Three of America's four desert ecosystems--the Mohave, the Great Basin, and the Sonoran Deserts--meet in Lake Mead National Recreation Area. As a result, this seemingly barren area contains a surprising variety of plants and animals, some of which may be found nowhere else in the world.
Located in the center of the 67 mile long Lake Mohave, Cottonwood Cove Resort & Marina is in the middle of the action
Visitors to Lake Mohave find spectacular scenic vistas from park roads, the lake surface, and non-structured walks. Striking backdrops for all recreational activities include deep canyons, dry washes, sheer cliffs, distant mountain ranges, the lakes, colorful soils and rock formations and mosaics of different vegetation.
Fishing on Lake Mohave is excellent due to the many varieties of game fish available and naturally occurring species, such as Cutthroat, Rainbow, German Brown Trout, Largemouth Bass, Catfish, Crappie, Blue Gill and Perch. The sport varies depending on the time of the year and lake conditions, but Striper fishing is excellent all year long, with record-size fish caught in the cooler months. Its glass smooth water and mild temperatures also make it ideal for waterskiing.
